FAMILY TAKES SWING AT MELANOMA

In 2007, Indianapolis businessman, Bill Baker, fell victim to melanoma. He was only 53. Bill was a father, husband, son, and avid golfer who was known for his trademark 'cackle,' a laugh that resonated through many a golf course. Bill's smile and exuberant personality lit up a room, and it's a light that the Baker family has kept shining through the creation of the Cacklebird Classic Golf Outing. Since its inception, the event has raised more than $100,000 to benefit the Bill Baker Memorial Fund at Outrun the Sun.

"It is an honor for us to organize the Cacklebird Classic each year," says John Baker, Bill's son who spearheads the outing. "It's a great way to pay tribute to our dad and recognize others who have been affected by melanoma, while raising funds for an important cause." Outrun the Sun is grateful to the Baker family, the participants, and sponsors of the event for their support.
